Ever since I started posting regularly on LinkedIn, I came across several aspiring writers from different backgrounds interested in educating themselves about content writing, SEO, client pitching, improving their English, and more. I try to cover all of these in detail in my writing sessions. However, if some of you cannot attend my free sessions on content writing, I want to help by providing you with some free content writing, marketing, SEO, and more resources I found online.
The first thing you have to do when it comes to mastering writing is to understand how it began, the different industries in the market that support this skill, what potential you have, and how you can make a change in this particular industry. For instance, let us suppose you are a fashion design student who loves writing about fashion. So, the first thing you need to do here is to understand and evaluate how you will make a difference in this niche — given the case that there are hundreds and thousands of similar fashion writers just like yourself. Once you have found out why your writing is different and how it impacts the fashion industry, you will have an easy time finding good-paying clients.
As I always say, it’s not about you going out to find clients, but rather clients approaching you, stalking you, and finding the courage to pitch their requirements to you! Trust me, it is possible, and all you need is dedication, focus, zeal to learn something, and overcoming your weaknesses.
As most of you dropped me a personal message requesting to share some good online resources regarding writing, I have arranged some of the YouTube videos that I found to be good, on point, and worth your time.
The first person that I would like to mention here is Brian Dean. I have been watching Brian’s videos for a very long time. I even stalk him on LinkedIn and try to see how people react to his comments. His videos are way too good, and the tips/tricks that he shares are top-notch. It saves your time and makes you a better content writer and copywriter. Check out his following video and see some of the amazing tips and formulas he shares for mastering copywriting.
I personally think that your entire SEO education is incomplete if you do not listen to Neil Patel. Neil has been in the industry for a long time and has acquired tremendous knowledge. His videos are short and provide detailed information about key marketing strategies that help in generating organic traffic, bringing organic conversion, and ultimately building a brand for yourself. Make a habit of listening to him every day. Trust me, you will have acquired some amazing SEO knowledge within a month.
If you have problems in English or are just starting out as a freelancer, Satish is your guy. He has accumulated all of his knowledge and expertise in creating such amazing content, and that too in Hindi, that it becomes super easy for beginners to see how they can create content that clients want to learn. Check out his video and see how easily he talks about SEO optimization and how to create a Google-friendly article.
Saheli Chatterjee is someone that most of you know. Her LinkedIn/Instagram/YouTube marketing strategies are a course in themselves. Just follow all of her social media platforms and try to have the dedication of her level, and you will see yourself growing in the next six months. Trust me when I say this, if you follow and learn from Saheli, you do not have to look elsewhere. Saheli knows her audience, is here to help, and provides nothing but valuable content. Check out her video, where she talks about making a portfolio for beginners. Great watch!!!
Another gem on YouTube is Julia McCoy, who is also the founder of The Content Hacker. You will find her cool strategies in her YouTube videos to create a WordPress website, write press releases, build content marketing that generates passive income, and much more! You can even find her playlists where she mentions different videos on entrepreneurship and digital skills that get you paid!
Some of you may already know about these famous YouTubers. You must have watched their videos to learn about freelancing in general. But for those still in the budding writing phase, these videos will come in handy as you embark on this adventurous journey to explore writing and, ultimately, to yourself.
If you have more resources about writing and freelancing in general, please share those links here in the comments sections.
Until next week.
